Job Title: Information Technology (IT) Manager
Description

Information Technology (IT) Manager

Primary Responsibilities
  • The incumbent will be responsible for the overall control and execution of the IT and communication operations.
  • This is a “hands-on” role that requires technical expertise, ability to liaise with business management, lead small team and manage vendor.
Reporting to
  • Managing Director and Chief IT Officer
Specific responsibilities
  • Oversee the whole IT and communication in Singapore
  • Work with and report IT related status to Singapore management and Regional management
  • Understand the businesses and business needs in order to provide IT solutions that meet internal standards and requirements
  • Ensure that nation-wide network & IT systems are working and minimize downtime.
  • Assist, co-ordinate, implement and support IT related business projects.
  • Support local and corporate applications for all business-lines (Back Office Support System, Oracle, SMS, Sharepoint and other systems).
  • With IT team, manage, monitor and maintain all SGS infrastructure at Singapore officers – Servers, communication equipment (Lotus Domino 5.10, Windows, Rightfax, Proxy, SMS, AD, DHCP & DNS).
  • Ensure all infrastructures meet proper industry and SGS standards for security, safety and environment.
  • Actively involve in design, implementation and maintenance of Data Backups, Antivirus managements, Disaster Recovery Plans & SOP.
  • Supervise and assist team in providing day-to-day user support.
  • Supervise and lead subordinates on their job responsibilities
  • Plan, advise and monitor IT and communication purchases in collaboration with Singapore and Regional Management.
  • Look into new solutions for improving IT & Business Operations.
  • Find solutions for all IT and communication related matters and problems in Singapore.
  • Ensure the best quality if execution.
  • Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     
Profile
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • With at least 8 years experience in similar position.
  • Familiar with setting up and maintaining network and server, major application software.
  • Experience directing and managing staff
  • Experience in Project Management using proper standard methods – skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, management, vendors, suppliers and customers.
  • Good business acumen with technical know-how.
  • Acts quickly and decisively
  • Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
     
Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and outgoing personality able to effectively work at all levels from staff to senior management.
  • Fluent English and any SEAP regional language.
  • Experience directing and managing staff.
  • Experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking/WAN and end user equipment.
  • Familiar with current industry methodologies, standards, practices with knowledge of emerging technology trends
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to work extended hours when required (including weekends)
  • Ability to follow complex instructions/technical manuals
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task while still meeting scheduled deadlines.
  • Sense of autonomy, thus requiring a minimum day-to-day direct supervision.
